| Step
9 - If
you are developing only one roll, drop the
loaded reel into the tank and put the cover
firmly on the tank. |

|
| Step 10
- If you are
developing several rolls at a time, place the
loaded reels on the loading hook, and put
them all in the tank loaded with developer
all at once. Start the timer immediately. If
you are using a plastic tank and reel, drop
the loaded plastic reel into the plastic
developing tank, place the lid on the tank,
and twist it to lock it in place.
|

|
| Step 11
- Pour the
developer in the tank through the small
opening in the cover, and then cap the
opening tightly. Start the timer, and turn on
the darkroom lights. |

|
| Step 12
- Rap the tank
gently on the edge of the sink to dislodge
air bubbles. If you don't do this you will
have dots all over your film. |

|
| Step 13
- Pick up the
tank and agitate it gently - that is, turn it
upside down and back - to make sure the
developer flows freely and continuously over
the entire film surface. You should do this
for tens seconds every 30 seconds. If you do
this too much or too little, you may under or
overdevelop your film. |

|
| Step 14
- If you are
developing several rolls of film at once,
push the reels up and down (with the darkroom
lights OFF!) This will remove air bubbles,
then cover it with th lid and put the cap on. If
you are using a plastic tank, agitate it by
inserting the thermoeter and turn it
clockwise direction. This will remove the air
bubbles. Note that if you turn the
thermometer counterclockwise, you will unwind
the film.
|

|
| Step 15
- When the timer
shows that the time is about up with the
development process, remove the small cap and
begin pouring the developer back into the
storage tank or down the drain if it is
dissposable. Note that many local photography
retail stores will recycle your developer, so
try contacting them before throwing it away. |

|
| Step 16
- You first may
want to rinse the film of with water for
about thirty seconds, while leaving the lid
on. Then pour the stop bath into the can. You
can leave the acid bath in the can for about
30 seconds to 1 minute. If you don't have
stop bath you can achieve the same purpose by
repetitively rinsing it with water 3 or 4
times. The cover should REMAIN on the tank or
the lights should be out. |
