Violin

The Violin produces sound when
the strings are vibrated, often by the bow sliding across them. The body of the instrument amplifies the sound.

The Cello is the largest member of the violin family, and also known as the violincello. Standing on a long metal pin, it is placed between the players legs and played in a vertical position. Its deep sounds are made as the player pull the bow across its four strings. The tones are changed by fingering on the neck of the cello.

The fiddle is a violin but played in the unique style associated with American country and bluegrass music. The Gadulka is a large Bulgarian folk fiddle with three or four strings played while resting on the knee instead of the chin.
