The purpose of this web site is to further educate people (ages 7 to adult) about the way computers work and how they can be used in everyday life in a fun and educational environment. At this web site, we take you on a journey to learn about computing by visiting vital information about computer hardware, operating systems, types of software, hardware to assist computer users with special needs, and a link to the history of computing, Take a trip to a fun and creative fully user interactive virtual computer store. While at the store you can e-mail us with any questions or tips you have about coding in VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language). At this site, you will be able to learn about technology and prepare yourself to meet the educational and professional demands of today's high-tech world. A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page will post questions drawn from computer related issues, problems and solutions, that are submitted by visitors to the site via our e-mail.

Operating System

 

This site was developed by Josh Frkuska and Patrick Mendez. Cipriano and Hope Mendez and The University of Texas at San Antonio New Media Lab provided software and hardware for use to construct this site. The director of the New Media Lab, Dr. Richard Wadsworth, his Assistant Media Coordinator, Eric Quiroz, and his lab assistant, Alfredo Zavala van Petten also provided assistance with technical resources. Our coaches, Hope Mendez, Liz Newcomb and Alfredo Zavala van Petten assisted us with planning, editing, and information. Our special thanks to Rick Newcomb and Augie Frkuska for other technical support. We would also like to thank Altex Electronics, San Antonio,Tx, who let us take photos of many computer components in their store.
