Well, what did we think about making this site. It was quite hard to find a subject that was fun, original and also instructive. After lot of asking around we came to the conclusion that “The Euro” would make a good subject. We chose the Euro because there’s a lot of talk about it on TV and in the newspapers. Constructing this site was quite a lot of work, but we've enjoyed it. The subject was hard for us: because at our age, we don’t have economics at school yet. We learned a lot about the euro, and about how to construct a website. Of course we hope that everybody who visited this site learned something, and enjoyed browsing it. What is our opinion about the euro.Sonja: In one hand , I am in favour because it is ease when you go abroad and because it will make thinks easier for traders. This all might lead to the further unification of Europe. On the other hand, I am against the euro, because it is not very favourable for Holland. The Guilder is a strong currency. Also it might be hard to get used to the Euro. Everything has to be converted. It will take some time before I will be able to calculate and to think in terms of Euro’s. All in all, I am pro-euro, because the unity of Europe is important to me. Saskia: Being a dutchman, I’m against the euro, because it’s not favourable for us to participate. This has to do with the strength of the Euro. People who will get their pension in a few years, will get less money in Euro’s then they would get in guilders. Besides this, I think the Euro will not bring more unity in Europe, people will never forget their ore background and culture. Im not totally against the euro. It will be good for the less wealthy countries and for the trade in Europe. But this advantage will not be that great because the EMU demounts are very strickt. I think the Euro, like every project, has its pro’s and con’s. We want to thank a number of people for their assistance in making this site. Without their help we wouldn’t have managed to finish this project. At first, we want to thank Gert-Jan Wallinga. He translated everything into English, accept the interviews and this epilogue. For that, we have to thank Lucie Rugers and Michiel de Wijk. Michiel also advised us on technical matters. We also want thank Mr Verbeek for participating in the interviewing. And of course all the people from the street interviews. We also thank our teacher, Aad vd Drift who was also out Coach. At last, we want to thank all our friends an family who supported us. We hoped you enjoyed reading this website. Please send your reactions to: Email sjkort@freemail.nl. We would like to hear from you! |
