Physical Characteristics
The Baboon is a medium sized monkey. It can reach up to 30 inches in length and its tail can reach 24 inches. The baboon has a grayish colored coat and the skin on the rear and face is a reddish color.
Habitat, daily life and feeding
You can find baboons in the woodlands, savannas and grassland. Baboons are omnivores and eat plants mostly grass and meat when available. Baboons live in communities usually containing 1 adult male many female and young. Usually the community has 30-40 baboons. They sleep in the same place and females spend much of their day grooming the male.
Reproduction and Young
Breeding occurs all year round. The female stays with the male after mating or in the same community. After a period of 170 days 1 young is born.
