Types of Music

 

Rock (Español: Rock) - Popular music arising from and incorporating a variety of musical styles.

Country (Español: Música del Campo) - Popular music based on the folk style of the southern rural United States or on the music of cowboys in the American West.

Folk (Español: Canción Tradicional) - Music originating among the common people of a nation or region and spread about or passed down orally, often with considerable variation.

Classical (Español: Música Clásica) - European music during the latter half of the 18th and the early 19th centuries.

Flamenco (Español: Flamenco) - A dance style of the Andalusian Gypsies characterized by forceful, often improvised rhythms.

Jazz (Español: Monsergas) - A style of music, native to America, characterized by a strong but flexible rhythmic understructure with solo and ensemble improvisations on basic tunes and chord patterns and, more recently, a highly sophisticated harmonic idiom.
