Many people have different views on Global Warming. And some of them actually express them publicly in print or in interviews. Below are some views and predictions we manage to gather from numerous sources and from people from all walks of life. Do take some time to ponder on what they had said, for they had expressed well on this threatening situation we call Global Warming.
Of course, if you feel that YOU have something to say, please feel free to voice your opinions in our message board. The future is in our hands, and it takes many people, each and every one of us, to be able to predict and actually shape our future. If we choose to voice our opinions, we will be able to compare notes and thoughts on this subject.
THE EXPERTS
We the undersigned, senior members of the world's scientific community, hereby warn all humanity of what lies ahead. A great change in our stewardship of the earth and the life on it is required, if vast human misery is to be avoided and our global home on this planet is not to be irretrievably mutilated.
~Exercpt from The Warning written and spearheaded by UCS Chair Henry Kendall. Some 1,700 of the world's leading scientists, including the majority of Nobel laureates in the sciences, issued this appeal in November 1992.
The threat of severe global climate imbalance and localized climate chaos will continue to accelerate as fossil-fueled civilization continues down its current consumptive-oriented path. Methane from termites, cows, garbage dumps and rice paddies threaten to inevitably unleash compacted methane currently locked in polar ice. Reckless burning of fossil fuels unleashing long-cycle carbon dioxide is only the catalyst. Remember that "short-cycle" carbon dioxide is okay -- local combustion / conversion of plant-life that was alive the previous season -- only releases C02 "in balance" with the C02 that was inhaled by the living biomass/plant. Every action has consequences! Every day is Earth Day!

MAN-ON-THE-STREET
The Earth is like a giant oven; it's getting really hot.
~ Sarah Tsao, Student
If the temperatures keep rising I think a lot of air-conditioners will be in use, and that will lead to the release of more CFCs which in turn leads to increased Greenhouse effect, then leading to Global warming again! That's a really, really bad cycle!
~ Zhang Liling, Student
I think it is time somebody go all out to do something about this situation?!
~ Fong Lee Cheng, Unemployed
Everybody should chip in and make an effort to stop Global Warming. We must take action soon!
~ Daphne Yeo Gui Duo, Fashion Designer
In the past, it seems so cool, like it is air-conditioned everywhere! Now, I feel as if I am being steamed whenever I go out!

US! THE TEAM MEMBERS
Global Warming is a major thing and a global crisis, although its effects are not being felt, yet. It is sad that no one is paying much attention to this threat to humanity which can be solved if we put our heart into it. We should worry first about our environment's stability before we worry about our stuff like economy, warfare and such. If our environment gets sick, we will be the ones paying the price for our own mistake and negligence. The Earth's future and humanity's future looks bleak if we do not stop Global Warming now. Before we know it, we will have to face the wrath of Global Warming! Everybody in this world should start cooperating with one another and start healing our overheated Earth back to health! I don't think we would want to live on a planet portrayed in the movie, Waterworld, where the entire Earth is flooded and we all have to start adapting by growing gills and fins!

Global warming... the result, even if we use little CFCs and stuff, is a HUGE chain effect. The ozone layer will continue to be depleted as it is impossible to thoroughly eradicate the using of CFCs and other pollutants. After the polar icecaps melt, the seas are going to rise and flood the coastal areas. However, meanwhile, I believe that the temperature of the earth may actually, temporarily, go down. After which, the earth will begin to heat up again and the earth might be practically impossible to live in especially at the equatorial regions. We might have to move over to another planet... who knows?
~ Ruth Khan (rkhan@singnet.com.sg)
The problem of Global Warming lies with the people. Humans -- almost every single one of them. Even me! I'll admit it -- I don't put in much effort in saving the ozone layer, coz I come to school in a private car and I don't pay much attention to CFCs. But I get really scared when I see all that smoke and poisonous chemicals pouring from those red and white banded chimneys, coz I know all that pollution does not disappear as some people pretend they do. It goes somewhere -- now we are beginning to see where. The ozone layer is literally disintegrating, and the earth is heating up like a giant oven (trust us, we are in Singapore, we know). Everyone's got to say no to this, and soon too, or else the Earth will fight back and the Human shall die forever.
