Nutrient Supplements

Nutrient supplements are pills, powders, and liquids—not foods—that contain nutrients. For some people, these supplements are necessary, but some people also misuse them. Pregnant women, for example, may need supplements. Women may need iron supplements, or calcium supplements. Excess amounts of vitamins A, D, E, and K can be toxic. Excess vitamin C is just flushed right out of the system. A good dosage is the one from the RDA labels.
