Harvest Time:
Bring home the babies.
- 1. The embryos will take about two weeks to develop.
- 2. 35 days after planting, two weeks after pollination, the plants are ready to be harvested. Take the plants off the watering system and let them dry out for three days.
- 3. If your plant has not died before now, this is the time to say good-bye to your plant, its job is done here. Remove the dried pods and set them aside. Toss out the plants! Play "Taps."
- 4. Clean out the wells and prep them for the next generation of plants.
- 5. Do not mix your seed types.
- 6. To remove the seeds from the pod, split the pod laterally, most seeds will rest on the sides of the pod, carefully remove them from the pod with forceps or you fingers.
- 7. Store the seed in a cool dry place.
