Site #6 Site six is a lagoon like body of water that extends of the swifter flowing water at site 5. The water that flows through the narrows of site five works its way around a small eucalyptus tree that helps to hold the rock and soil in place. Water collects in a large, deep, stagnant pool. The pool appears to have been established by the heavy runoff of the previous year. A very steep undercut bank on the north side provides evidence of the pools origin. The depth of the pool is usually greater than 1m. DO levels tend to be low here which creates a low diversity of organisms. Mosquito fish are usually always abundant here. The path around site six and seven opens up into a large deposit of gravel offereing students excellent access to the water.
