Welcome to our site, an Exploration into a Medieval Fiefdom. In creating
this site, we
have endeavored to explain what it was like to live and work during the
eleventh to fourteenth century England.
When you look around the Internet, there are very few sites that
are targeted towards this area of history, and so we decided to make a
site which had a great deal of information to offer to those who would
seek it. We tried to follow three main rules when we were making this
site:
Keep download time down for those with low bandwith capacity.
Give as much information as possible without being boring.
Create a user friendly environment which helps to promote learning.
In order to keep access to this site fast, we have optimized it for different
connections allowing the user to decide the graphic intensity, and UNIX
GNUzipping some of the large VRML files. We have thoroughly researched this
topic, and we tried to create an overall balance of information, yet keep
it fun. We have incorporated new technology to give the user the most out
of this site. By utilizing many of the user interaction aspects of the Internet, we have created, what we feel, is a user friendly learning interface.
