Mammoth Cave

Mammoth Cave National Park in southwestern Kentucky was established as a national park in 1941. It is also one of the 20 Wonders of the World.

Mammoth Cave contains many limestone chambers and five separate levels, all of which are connected to nearby caves. This makes it one of the longest cave systems in the world. Many rock formations can be found in it, including calcite and gypsum. The cave also contains many underground lakes, waterfalls, and rivers. Its longest river, Echo River, is host to many blindfish and colorless crayfish.

Historians believe that Mammoth Cave was discovered in 1798. Since then, many discoveries have been made, including the finding of a pre-Columbian cave man.
