Big Ben

Originally designed by Edmund Beckette and Baron Grimthorpe, this 529 foot tower clock has been famed for accuracy and for the 13 ton Bell inside.
Today, it is housed in the Tower at the East end of the House of Parliament, Westminster, in London.
Completed in 1859, it took the name of the commissioner of works, Benjamin Hall, even though it only referred to the bell but later to the clock itself.
