To maintain its pole position in the world, new investments have to be made constantly. Below you'll find a description of the investments which are made while this is written.
The Maasvlakte expansion
To create more docking and transshipment possibilities for the larger ships, the Maasvlakte was the answer. The Maasvlakte is a artificial expansion of the mainland by about a thousand acres. The newly created land will mostly be used for chemical industry and distribution. Plans are being made for a third phase of this kind of expansion.
The Betuwe line
To create a very efficient infrastructure, investments are to be made. To be sure that all the goods for our biggest client, Germany, reach their destination as soon as possible. The Betuwe line is being made while we are speaking. The Betuwe line is a railway that is only used for freight and is partly underground.
Expansion of the Beneluxtunnel

access route to the Maasvlakte. The tunnel which on its lowest point
is twenty-two meters below the sea level, is going to be doubled to handle
the increasing flow of traffic which has to go to the Maasvlakte.
