Hello, my name is Kenneth Coleman. I'm eighteen years old and I live in Valley Stream, NY. Rollerblading and internet surfing are two of my favorite activities to do. In addition, I listen to ska and alternative music. I graduated from Valley Stream Central High School in June 1997 in the top ten percent of my class, and was a participant in many school activities. These activities included being treasurer of the Foreign Language Honor Society, member of the Math honor society, and member of the Science Honor Society. I currently attend St. John's University, where I have just completed my first year, and am majoring in Computer Science.

So, what is it that you want to know about me? To start, my name is Adam Schechter and I'm 18 years old. I just graduated from Valley Stream Central high school this past June -- finishing 28th in my class. This fall I will attend Binghamton University, majoring in Political Science. Many of my interests include writing, politics, and the Internet. I am an Eagle Scout the first recipient of the Nassau County Legislature Citizenship Award for my scholastic record, school activities, and community service, and a member of the National Honor Society. Being a huge Islander fan has spilled over into me playing roller hockey. Writing a column entitled "Perennial Quest" for our school paper was a great experience in the last two years learning about running a paper.

The idea to compete in this contest was first introduced by the Math department chairperson of our school, Ms Demyen. She informed us about the contest -- a challenge we couldn't pass up. Together, we decided to design a web page about teenage drinking because it is such a vast problem in today's society. All of us have had some Internet experience before the contest, but our coaches, E.B. Stone and Kathi Livornese, showed us how to better utilize the Web and make it educational for everyone.
