The hardest step in getting onto the Internet is finding a computer. Today, with technology changing so quickly, whatever kind of computer you buy will be outdated soon. Presently, to get on the Internet, one should buy at a minimum:

• Pentium computer or modern Macintosh model
• sound card and speakers
• for PCs: 8 MB RAM and 850 MB HD
• 28.8 modem
