Ross Dargan -- PLEASE HELP ME! I am currently doing my a-levels and I have decided to build a computer security device, it will hopefully basically monitor the outputs of a sensor(s), and react to movement/sound eg.., I then want the device to trigger a transmitter, that will enable the compuer to be tracked, if you have any legal trasmitters, that oporate on a legal frequancy, but have a long distance to them I would really appreciate a copy of the circuit, I also need to know how I would recive it, I have a scanner(a radio scanner), could that be used? I am a student so money is something I don't have a lot of, Please help me.
Adam -- Hi, I'm designing a 4-player quiz game circuit, but I reached a stage where I want to iclude a timer for 2-seconds buzzer, as many of you know, the 555 timer is triggered by a one negative-edge pulse. Andy -- What is the name of a switch that has an internal magnetic switching arm, that is tossed between two electromagnetic poles. Each pole is generated by a 3vDC impulse current. The switch would need to have a constant 12vDC current supply passing through the switch when an impulse from one of the 3vDC is given.(Impulse=<1 sec,20 amp) After the impulse is given, the switch is on and the circuit is closed until an impulse form the other 3vDC input is given. Once the 3vDC impulse #2 is given the switch turns off, by breacking the circuit. I need to pass an independent 12vDC source through this switch that I can trun both on and off by a remote that has a receiver that outputs 3VDC. I need to be able to use the two channels to turn the switch on and off. Thanks, Andy

Bryan -- I have a Battery charger for my Radio Control Car. It has an AMP guage on it. When I charge a 6 cell battery pack that is 6 cells at 1.2v & 1700 mAh a piece. The charger has an output of between 3 and 4 amps. Now I made up a 4 cell battery pack of the same cells and since there is less resistance then the 6 cell pack the amps shoot through the roof. The amp meter only goes to 5 amps and it pegs it. So I want to put some sort of a variable resistor in there. I tryed to put a 1 meg ohm potentiometer on the positive wire going to the battery pack. Of course it blew it because it couldn't handle the amperage. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for the help in advance. Bryan

Miguel Alcaniz -- We are involved in a project for video transmission and we are using the SAA7201 and the SAA7183. We are using the Micorcontroller C167 (SIEMENS) to control of the system. We have realized that the technical information that we have found in PHILIPS Web for the SAA7201 is not enough complete to solved the following doubts: - Which are the State Registers and the Control Registers accessed by the HOST INTERFACE? Where are they? And what is their structure? - Which are the interrupts corresponding to the 4 IRQ lines of HOST INTERFACE? - What is the actual format of the Area Desciptors, the Top-Field, the Bottom-field y Table-Data and the Graphics Data? - Which is the external memory area where the graphics are loaded? (how can we access this area?, which is the inicial address? and which is the final address?). - Where and how can we define the cursor? - Where is the ENA_YUV signal that sets the YUV output in high impedance state? We wonder if you can tell us where we can find the information that can help us to solve these doubts or if you can help us to solve them. We would also appreciate very much any information about where we can find more documentation for the SAA7201 aside from the two documents that we found in PHILIPS Web. If you have any information that could help us please send an e-mail to: Miguel Alcaniz e-mail: mialcan@upvnet.upv.es or to: Carlos Sanchez e-mail: csanched@eln.upv.es Thanks in advance for your help. Tom -- I'm having a hard time finding out precisely how significant the heat dissipating characteristics are between the SECC and SECC2 packages for a retail boxed P2-450 processor w/heatsink & fan attached from intel. I ordered a SECC2 from a supplier and they sent a SECC, which will work for my application, but based on what little info I could find I'm a little concerned about the difference in heat dissipating abilities. The supplier told me that since Intel is using a better fan on the SECC that it performs just as well as the SECC2. Also, I desire to leave the original intel heatsink/fan attached since I probably won't be overclocking. If I do overclock, or heat does become an issue, is there a significant difference between the heat dissipating abilities of aftermarket SECC and SECC2 cooling products? Glen Connor -- HELLO!!. I wanted to ask you a question. I am doing a senior project(in college EE) on barcode scanning. I am trying to figure out a way to scan this code. Actually the code(which is located on the back of products) is not black and white, it's three colors. My professor told me there is a easy way to do this. First I take three colors , print them on blank credit card type of material, slide the card with the three colors on it through one of those card readers. He said I should have a ckt that is hooked up to the card reader which then reads scans the colors and alerts and different LED for every color that is present. Now I know this. Due to the colors, they give off different intensities. And with the different intensities they produce different voltages. I have been reading about the phototransistor. Do you know of any type of light intensity detecting ckt or do you know of references/hints. I really don't mean to bother you with my question, it's just that I am really stuck and can't figure it out. Thank you for time, I really apreciate it. Glen Connor Florida

Dave -- When I connect my portable cd player into my car stereo aux in, and use internal dc batteries to power it, the sound quality is fine. But when I power the cd player from the auto battery using a convertor that converts 12vdc to the required 4.5vdc (thru the cigarette lighter plug), the audio picks up whirling noises. These noises happen even if the car motor is not turned on. And I am using a shielded stereo cable to connect the cd line out to the car stereo aux in. Is this a ground loop problem? If yes, how to fix? Or do I just need a noise filter in the dc power supply line? If yes, is there a simple schematic design I can build myself?

Will the scene on the monitor disintergrate into a chaotic image similar to the screeching feedback that occurs in circuits that contain a microphone and amplifier? If this question is not easily answered in the small space allowed, perhaps you could recommend a text where the answer could be found.

Here's the question: Cna you send me a schematic for both the inverting and noninverting amplifiers and their manufacturer's sheet? Also, I've tried to locate some theory or application, you know literature that explains exactly what each is and what it is designed to do. This is my final and it's due July 5. I would really appreciate any and all help you can give me. Thanks!!
Doreen Yeo -- Anyone knows how to design a switch box circuit to access up to 5 computers from one keyboard, monitor and mouse? I need to display all 5 screens on the monitor at the same time. Thanks in advance.

Glenn -- does anyone out there know a schematic for a simple, inexpensive electric fence charger(the type used to contain livestock)? It should have a quite serious jolt...the bull can and does push through barbed wire and rail fencing. I plan on powering this fence with a 12v dc power supply. I'd really appreciate the help, as I can't see spending the outrageous sums for a commercialy made charger when I can etch a breadboard and solder on components from radioshack and such myself. Thanks for taking the time to read this even if you can't help.

Alan -- I have been designing a differential op-amp for a uni project but am having severe difficulties biasing the darlington pair in my circuit. The first part of my circuit with an active load, current mirror and differential part work fine however as soon as I enter the darlington pair I loose the voltage gain from the first part of the circuit. I have tried biasing this with an 3rd transistor from my current mirror and a number of other desperate methods which have not worked. Could anyone give me some suggestions on how to bias the darlington pair as I have found the books available little help.
