Gallery of Champions
Welcome to the Gallery of Champions. All of these players have left
the imprint of their unique styles on our chess culture. We invite
you to examine the character of their play. Decide for yourself what
it was that so inspired these artists to bring them to the top. Our
gallery includes the thirteen official world champions and two additions,
Paul Morphy at the beginning, and Deep Blue at the end. Both of these
warriors brought chess into a new era. And so we include them here
in our gallery as a testament to the rich cultural history of chess and
the infinity of possibilities that lie ahead.

A Note on the Games: In many of the games the champions seem
to sacrifice much of their army. Don't try this at home kids.
