Well, for a cocky 6-year old kid who thinks he
knows it all, the only way to convince
him he still has something to learn is for Jennie
or someone else good sit down and
beat him soundly for a few games, then discuss
with him just what he needs to do to improve!

An idea for more discussion might be, when teaching
chess take some time to discuss the game's greatest
players not just as chessplayers but as people
active in a variety of forums (e.g. Kasparov's
election to the Russian House of Representatives).
That way students might get to feel chess isn't
a game only for people who think of little else
(I think many people have this impression) and
also chess teachers could interface with teachers
of government or history classes to some extent.
