The reason so few women play chess obviously
ius not because they aren't as good at it as men.
Girls are generally encouraged in language abilities
as opposed to say mathematics. War has always been the province of men, and chess is a war game
based on feudal Europe. Women like Judit Polgar
who is better than 99% of men at chess, prove
decisively that females are as good as males at
chess. Read Reuben Fine's "The Psychology of
the Chess Player" to find other reasons why females
seem largely uninterested in chess.
