English version - or our English version, anyway - is that pawns can't be dropped on 7th or 8th rank (but can be dropped on the 1st, which can be quite interesting!), you can't capture a piece with a drop, and you can't drop a piece to give check. If one game finishes, the other carries on with whatever 'reserve' pieces are still available (if any).
