Sure. Go to ftp://ftp.pitt.edu/group/chess/ or ftp://caissa.onenet.net/pub/chess/ and you will find some good programs listed either by platform or by PROG.
You may want to start with GnuChess, which is available for Windows or Mac. Another remarkable Macintosh game is MacChess 4.0. Either of these programs will give you a tough game, unless you are a Master, of course.
Also, keep your eyes on the shelves of your local software store. Old (but really good and strong) versions of Chessmaster can go for 9 or 10 bucks. I always see them in catalogs, too, for really cheap.
Maybe someone else can recommend another Windows 95 shareware/freeware game?
