It is so cool to walk along the streets of New York or Boston or Washington DC and suddenly to see people playing chess. Most of the time they are hustlers making their living, but it shows a great dedication to the game and a way to have fun. I think parks everywhere should have chess tables with people playing. Heck, chess should be available at all public places.
When I visited Budapest,Hungary i found chess tables in the middle of swimming pools with people playing blitz in the water. In front of one hotel there was a huge chess set where you had to walk accross the board to move the pieces. Chess is a game you can enjoy any time anywhere.
