Sound File Information
Because of the nature of this page, there are many sound files that are located throughout it that will be useful for understanding certain topics, as well as being enjoyable to listen to. Whenever this site calls for a sound file, the following icon will appear:

You may listen to the selection by clicking on the type of file you wish to listen to it as. There are three file types present: RealAudio, .Wav, and .AIFF.
- RealAudio (RA) - This file type, developed by Progressive Networks, is the most preferred file type available, and is available to all platforms - PC, Mac, and UNIX. Due to its streaming technology, downloading time is almost eliminated. In order to use it, however, you must first download a FREE player, available from Progressive Networks at their WWW site. It is highly recommended that you use RealAudio, because it is extremely fast, realiable, easy to use, and free.
- .Wav - This is the file type that is native to PC platforms. Anyone running a PC will be able to listen to the file without any helper applications, such as RealAudio, but each file takes about five minutes to download.
- .AIFF - This file type is native of Apple platforms. Again, anyone with a Mac can view it, but it takes a while to download.
We highly advise that you take the fifteen minutes required to set up RealAudio. You will save that much time after the first three of four sound clips that you listen to!
Happy Listening!
