Welcome to the "Information Internet" on the Internet! The internet is a wonderful tool for all to use, but all too often people have problems finding the right tool. Currently the internet is being used as a new medium for communication and learning. There are newsgroups to provide communication along with everyone's favorite online toy, e-mail! Other pages may advertise products in such detail that it would cost them a fortune to mail everyone a magazine. Pages such as the Apple and Intel homepage are there to keep us informed of the constantly growing and expanding technology and the exponential growth of the information revolution. Each e-mail, page, java script/applet, cgi-bin, etc... that is created advances and builds new connections for all to use and learn from.

The contest "ThinkQuest" is doing exactly what the internet was meant for, the exchange of information and the education of many others. The goal of the "Information Internet" is to link and create educational resource for all to use to benefit those who like to learn 'Internet style.' The same as when ARPANET (United States Defense Advanced Research Project Agency) was established in 1969. ARPANET served as a testbed for new networking technologies, linking many universities and research centers together. The "Information Internet" will link and unite just as ARPANET did to create the Internet, except we'll make it better!
