Carbon belongs to the IV A group in the periodic table. The IV A includes Carbon (C), Silicon (Si), Germanium (Ga), Tin (Sn), and Lead (Pb). Carbon is the second most abundant element in the human body. It combines mostly with Hydrogen (H) and Oxygen (O) and the elements of the VII A group (The Halogen Family). Over 80% of all known compounds contain carbon, and over 3,000,000 different carbon compounds have been discovered. From now on all references to Carbon , Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen (N), would be printed out in their symbols C, H, O, and N respectively.
Allotropes are different molecule forms of the same element. Diamonds and graphite are 2 kinds of common allotropes of C that's found in nature. Home Forward
