AIDS and Our Ignorant Society
You ponder is there’s something wrong with our society when for almost 10 years we have known the cure to AIDS.
You belief there’s something wrong with our society when millions of people still aren’t educated about what we know.
You know there’s something wrong with our society when the number of AIDS cases per year still rises exponentially even though we have the cure in our hands.
Aids is supposed to be treated like an epidemic. Billions of dollars are being funded into vaccines and cures. But for what reason? If perchance we do find that needle in a haystack and find a medical cure, what will happen? More money is spent dispersing the drug and society becomes relieved, throwing away their condoms and injecting crack into themselves- giving HIV the chance to mutate, retaliate, and dominate the world all over again. Our society knows this. Our government knows this, yet they still continue poking away at finding that “miracle” drug which annihilates every bacteria and virus in our system. But, the science in our laboratory cannot possible defeat the science of nature. Yet we still try.
So, what is the cure we already know? It’s simple. Stop having unsafe sex and stop using dirty needles. Oh, but we couldn’t do that. Our country’s society, unlike anywhere else, refuses to be open about this subject. Our society says, "The cure to AIDS is all in safe sex," only in whisper. But what action do they take? Nothing. Because they are the ones refusing to use this cure. This cure is our magic bullet; not a pill. Yet, we rely upon our ignorance and stupidity and would rather trade a night of enjoyment or a momentary high for the rest of our lives. You determine what’s wrong with out society.
