You walk into the Theater of Words, under the big red sign, pushing through the double doors, into the hall ahead of you.
All around you are people working to setup the stage. You notice a balding short man with graying hair yelling at some people with the words tech on their shirts. A tall blond-haired man, with a crew cut, is visibly flipping on and off the stage lights, occasionally barking out instructions to people back stage. You catch a glimpse of a short lady walking all around the stage talking with everyone she encounters, she seems to be the director. You start after her but she disappears into the crowd of people. You look around to see if you can find the producer, but since you have no idea what he looks like, you soon give up hope.
What are you supposed to do? The letter you got didn't give you any further instructions, other than to arrive here and wait. Now you're here, now what? You wish that the letter had given you more information. You stand perplexed in the middle of this confusion waiting for something to happen. The lights keep flashing, yelling people are running around and moving props.
Out of the seemingly hectic confusion walks a lady. Heading straight towards you, she is a fairly tall woman, with short red hair, and green eyes, carrying a clipboard in right hand. She doesn't look like she's part of the tech crew or actress. Who is she you wonder?
“So you’re the newcomer,” she says with a little smile. She extends her hand. “I’m Ruth McKnally, I'll be you guide for the day," she gestures behind her, "Sorry about all this confusion, but this is only our second rehearsal and we need to get everything setup, including the props, so we can practice on stage. Come on, follow me, I’ll show you around the theater.”
