• In the bottom of a plastic bottle bore a holefor a fitting perforated plu with a wide funnel.
• Inside the bottle attach a test tube with an extension to the plug. The test tube should contain some wet filter paper to prevent hte ticks fro dying of heat.
• Before fixing the testtube inside the bottle attach a small test tube containing butteric acid (bait) to the extension.
• Close the screw top of the plastic bottle.
• Paint the outside of the plastic bottle black (heat trap) and bury it about 5 cm in the ground in an endagered area.
• To check the trap take out the test tube (4) and empty the contents and the filter paper into a container with a self-closing top. Note on the container where the trp was located.
• Examine the contents in your school and send the ticks to a laboratory to inspect them about the content of borrelian bacteria
• Refill the test tube with filter paper and plant the tick trap again.
