Danger of infection

Here are some examples of infection!

1. On trips:
A class made a trip, hiking through the forest and took a rest on a clearing. The pupils sat down on the ground which was covered with high grass and little shrubs. There was a little brook where some pupils played.
The next morning one of the pupils reported that he had found a tick on his leg after the trip. He had removed the tick immediately. On that morning he saw that the area surrounding the position of the bite had become red.

2. Transferred by pets:
A dog ran through the wood and came home after a while. There are some ticks in its fur, which have not yet sunk their teeth into his flesh. While playing with a small child, the dog involuntarily transfers one of the ticks to the child. The followind day complains about a strong headache and a stiff neck. The mother takes the child to the doctor who makes a blood test which shows that there are Lyme germs.

3. in towns:
In a bit of degenerated park where rats have been attracted by rubbish, children find a hedgehog which has been infected by ticks. When playing with it a tick is transferred to a child. The following days tthe child shows influenza symptoms, but a medical examination indicates that these symptoms are due to meningitis caused by ESME-viruses.
