Question #11:

What are some of the things that sports psychologists do to raise the level of their client's play?

Response:

And I have heard one sports psychology and what he will do is go out and he'll take a heart monitor out on the golf course with a client and he'll find the best heart beat that they play the best golf at and then they teach them how to get to that heart beat if they are too low or how to lower themselves to that heartbeat if they are too high. And then they can throw away the monitor and they can change that ... they can get to it when they are in a competition situation. Which I think is really interesting. Now you are into peak performance and how do I play my best. How can I control my emotions and get reved up when I need to and not get too reved up which inhibits me from playing my best.
