Introduction Welcome to the timeline section of the Golf Course. Like always,we strive to provide material about golf that is both fun and educational. In this particular section, we decided to take some time to look at the history of golf through a timeline. I would like to note that the material in this section has come from iGolf. Why look at the history of golf? Well, there are a few reasons. The first is that the history of the game is quite interesting and fascinating. Not good enough for you? Well, to understand the game, you must understand what it has gone through to get to the game we now know and love. Did you know that they banned golf in certain parts of the world? Well, in Scotland and other parts of the world, golfing was banned because it was taking men and their focus away for the army and the country using it on a "silly game" of golf! Fascinating, huh?
