William Shakespeare was the eldest son and was born in a little house on Henley street. It is believed that he attended the Edward VI Grammar School for most of his schooling and in 1582, when he was 18 years old, he married the 26 year old Ann Hathaway. In May 1583 the couple had a daughter whom they named Susanne. In 1585 they had twins; Hamnet and Judith. William was believed to have left Stratford for London in the late 1580's. He then supposedly joined Lord Strange's Company of Actors who performed in inns and taverns around London. He also wrote plays for the Company. It is thought that Anne and the children stayed in Stratford.
