Armenia

Armenia is an ancient country, parts of which are now in Turkey and Iran. Present-day Armenia was set up as a Soviet Republic on April 2, 1921. Armenia declared independence on September 23, 1991 and became an independent state when the U.S.S.R. disbanded on December 26, 1991. The population of Armenia is 3,522,000.
