Download New Fonts

The authors of the Drivers Handbook for the Information Superhighway have decided we wish to use some specific type-faces (or fonts) on our web pages to make them look better. You should have these fonts anyhow, as they are becoming the standard set of fonts for Internet publishing.

To tell if you need the new fonts, look at the following section of text:

This Might Not Look so Good What it Should Look Like
Times New Roman (for comparison)
Arial Black
Comic Sans MS / Bold
Georgia / Bold / Italic / Bold Italic
Impact
Arial (For comparison)
Trebuchet MS / Bold / Italic / Bold Italic
Veranda / Bold / Italic / Bold Italic

Please click on the type of system you have to download the appropriate font archive.

To add the fonts to your computer after you've downloaded them:

To add fonts from a network drive without using disk space on your computer, make sure Copy Fonts To Windows Folder is not checked.

Macintosh

  1. If you're using Netscape, it should automatically start up the Stuff-it expander when the download completes.
  2. The fonts should be located on your desktop, or in a folder on your desktop called New Fonts.
  3. Open up the folder, and simply drag the fonts into your Fonts folder in your System Folder.
