Journey into the Atom: The Lobby

  Previous | Welcome | Activities | Next

Welcome

This is the lobby of the Journey into the Atom base camp. From here, you can continue to the briefing room before beginning the journey itself. Of course, you can also skip to any of the other rooms in the camp.

We suggest that you first visit the briefing room, then follow the suggested route from there. If you have already finished certain activities, you may skip directly to the next one from here. Also, if you would like to see an outline of the suggested route, please look at the Roadmap.

Activities

Here are the different activities you can participate in at base camp.

Briefing Room
Learn about the journey and gain some background information about atomic theory. This is your next stop before entering the Journey. Sorry, but you can't directly skip to the journey from this page (the one you're reading). You must go through the Briefing Room so that the page is set up properly.
Advanced Topics
Learn more about particle physics and perform some experiments yourself.
About the Authors
Before you leave, please take some time to learn about the genii (plural of genius) who made this informative, yet exciting site :-).
Individual Exploration
Explore some other in-depth sites devoted to the study of the atom.
Roadmap
A complete listing and description of the sections in this web site with links to each of them.
Search
Search the complete text of this web site.
Comments Board
Give feedback on the site and discuss particle physics with other visitors.

Looking at the walls around you, you see some black and white portraits of some old men. Wondering who they are, you wander over see the following pictures (Click on them to read more about them):
