Domestic Abuse

Almost half of all women and children who are homeless are fleeing from some form of abuse in their homes.  Most battered women and children have nowhere to go, so they reside in the streets.  There is never enough shelters or room for all the victims of domestic violence.  Even so, there are waiting lists.  Unfortunately, they are much too long, and people are difficult to contact when there is space if they live in the street.  So a lot of people get bumped off the list.  A place to sleep and stay is what most battered women need.  They can get a handle on their lives and their children’s.
