*cerebrum controls all voluntary actions It looks wrinkled due to the presence of gyri & sulci *three types of sulci: central sulcus,lateral sulcus,parietooccipital sulcus. *these three divide the into 4 distinct lobes viz. 1.FRONTAL LOBE-personality development 2.PARIETAL LOBE-general sensation;touch,pain etc 3.OCCIPITAL LOBE-visual sense 4.TEMPORAL LOBE-general consciousness *median longitudinal fissure is also known as SAGITAL FISSURE *BRAIN 3 PARTS: 1.FOREBRAIN(PROSENCEPHALON) consists of: a.olfactory bulbs b.cerebrum c.diencephalon 2.MID BRAIN(MESENCEPHALON) consists of: a.pitutiary body b.optic chiasma c.corpora quadrigemina d.crura cerebri 3.HINDBRAIN(RHOMBENCEPHALON) consists of: a.pons varoli b.cerebellum c.medulla oblangata (that's enough for now)

temporal lobe

what is the function of the temmoral lobe and what is the result or results to the functioning of the brain if the temporal lobe is scarred or damaged in any way. Also, what does the white matter in the brain do?
