I have a dream that one day this nation will come together and be one.

I have a dream that one day drugs will become history instead of reality.

I have a dream that one day even the worst enemies will join together and act like brothers and sisters.

I have a dream that my younger siblings won't be over-shadowed by the troubles of the world.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day children will believe in themselves, and know that they can achieve anything.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every one will come together in peace and harmony.

This is my hope and faith. With this faith we will be able to rise above the negative influences of violence and drugs.

This will be the day when my dream comes true.

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

I Have a Dream Too!

I say to you today, fellow students, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American Dream.

I have a dream that one day all schools and universities will rise up and live out the true meaning of their mission statements: "Universities and schools are equal opportunity institutions with respect to education. Universities and schools do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or handicap in admission or access to, or treatment in, its programs and activities."

I have a dream that one day students from public housing, halfway homes, trailer parks, rural and urban communities, and the country club set will be able to sit down at the table of brotherhood. That the homeboys, the rednecks, the geeks, and the preppies can begin to appreciate what each has to offer.

I have a dream that one day even Washington D.C., our troubled capital, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom, justice and home rule.

I have a dream that one day we will stop describing people by the color of their skin or their religious affiliation and judge them by the content of their character and personality.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day teachers will one hundred percent believe that all children can not only learn, but that all children will learn. Teachers will be dedicated to utilizing multiple instructional strategies to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all children.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day students will yield not to drugs, alcohol, crime, and sex as a form of recreation or power.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that all students will be able attend college, participate in activities, respect one another, attend school without having to worry about tuition, and achieve at a high level. All students will appreciate the opportunity they have for a quality education and put forth their best effort to be the best that they can be.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that society will once again reward those who achieve academic excellence and not pay millions of dollars only to those who excel in and play sports.

I have a dream that people will realize that "Excellence is not a gift given; but a skill perfected." "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that parents will stop killing kids and kids stop killing parents. Society must learn to make love not war.

I have a dream that parents will once again be involved in the rearing and education of their children.

I have a dream that one day the government will come up with effective ways to stop the violence in America.

I have a dream today.

"I have a dream today that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made smooth, and the crooked places be made straight." This is my hope. This is the faith. "With this faith we will be able to transform all of God's children into knowledgeable, empathetic, strategic, and self-directed, physically fit individuals. With this faith we will be able to work together, struggle together, undergo change together, and celebrate our successes together.

This will be the day when all of students, black and white, rich and poor will be able to demonstrate achievement of all outcomes - thus, earning a degree or diploma and getting a good job!

This will be the day when all of us will be able to read, write, do math, solve problems, apply knowledge, work with others, and to think critically.

So let excellence in achievement ring from the University of Maryland!
Let excellence ring from all public housing complexes!
Let excellence ring from all fraternity and sorority houses.
Let excellence ring from all trailer camps.
Let excellence ring from nursery schools to institutions of higher learning!
From every community, let excellence ring!

When we let excellence ring, when we let it ring from every village and town, from every dormitory at this great university, we will be able to speed up that day when all of our students will be able to rejoice and sing- "Prepared at last! Prepared at last! Thank God Almighty, prepared at last!"
