Research and Development Sphere

The Research and Development Sphere is where Koinae tries to improve the lives of the colonists, as well as develop new technologies for both Martian and Terran use. One of the ways they do this is through the use of computers. They are also involved in changing the natural terrain of the planet into one more like Earth. This is accomplished through a process known as terraforming.

Some of the experiments that they perform are to see if they could grow life outside of the colony. To see if this could be done one day, they test the effects of the Martian atmosphere on life. Of course, what research and development sphere would be complete without development? The R&D labs also invent things to help out the colonists in their everyday lives. The last duty of the Research and Development Sphere is to develope and implement different procedures for extraction and refining materials from the Martian crust.
