Operations Sphere

Martian Landing Area:

The Martian Landing Area is responsible for organizing takeoffs and landings of the interplanetary transport ships. The Landing bay is the only part of the Operations Sphere that is actually located outside the airlock of the colony. This allows more ships to be able to dock at once.

The technicians who coordinate this area must be very careful. If for some reason a ship cannot land or take off when it is supposed to, it could be very expensive to the colony. If the ship cannot land when it is supposed to, it will have to use extra fuel in order to adjust for the fact that it must stay in orbit until it can land. If a ship cannot take off when it is supposed to, it might have to waste fuel if it takes off when the planets are not close together. The planets are their closest every six months, so it is very important not to miss that window of opportunity.

This is also where the technicians repair any damage that the ship might have sustained, where they refuel the ships, and where they store them when they are not in use. For this reason, you must wear an environmental suit when looking around the landing bay.
