THE BRIGHT HOLE
It was a hot day. Jane was very tired.
She was sitting on a bench in the park and
drinking lemonade. She was angry. It was
the middle of the summer an she was still in
town. She dreamt of the sea, of the moutains,
of going somewhere.
- Hi, Jane - said somebody. It was Mark, Jane's
schoolmate. - Why are you in town?
- My parents have gone to Paris, I'm here with
Alec and I'm very bored.
- Well, I am very... - he didn't finish. Jane and
Mark saw a big, bright hole in the ground.
- Have you seen this hole before? - asked Jane.
- No, I haven't... Come on, Jane. Let's check it!
- Wait, Mark. Maybe it's dangerous.
- Come on! Maybe it's dangerous, but it's interesting
too!
They approached the hole and jumped in it.
What happened then? Write next two or three sentences of
the story.
