Somebody did SOMETHING. SOMETHING was done by somebody.
Jane ate a sandwich. A sandwich was eaten by Jane.
A scientist invented this mashine in 1904. This mashine was invented in 1904.
Has your dog ever bittten you? Have you ever been bitten by your dog?

*In passive sentences we use correct form of BE and the Past Participle.*

Present Simple John and Mary paint the walls this week. The walls are painted this week.
Past Simple John and Mary painted the walls last week The walls were painted last week.
Present Continuous John and Mary are painting the walls at the moment. The wall are being painted at the monent.
Past Continuous John was painting the walls when Mary came back. The walls were being painted when Mary came back.
Present Perfect John and Mary have painted the walls. The walls have been painted.
Past Perfect The walls were white. Mary and John had painted the walls. The walls were white. They had been painted.

3.Some verbs can have two objects.

Mrs Brows didn't offer me that job. I wasn't offered that job. The job wasn't offered to me.
Paul gave Annie a golden ring. Annie was given a golden ring. A golden ring was given to Annie.
4. The passive -ing form is being painted/ being told etc.
I don't like people laughing at me.
I don't like being laughed at.
