COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

Countable can be singular and plural, we can count them.
an apple
a peach
one egg
a pen
some
ten
a few
a lot of
1 kg
apples
peaches
eggs
pens

Uncountable nouns can only be singular (they have no plural). We can't count them.
a little
some
a lot of
much
a bottle of
one pound of
money
sugar
music
flour
water
meat

Nouns are used with SOME in positive sentences and with ANY in questions and negatives.

countable Alice's got SOME apples. Have you got any books?
I haven't got any rubbers.
uncountable Tom has bought some sugar. Is there any milk left?
We don't need any flour.

NOTE!: In sentences with SOME or ANY we use plural of countable nouns.
