What's being done today
Recently they have repaired and reinforced pier #3, numerous cracks were also
repaired to strengthen the pier. A foundation will be constructed to support the remaing truss of Span #4.
Work on Span #3 includes reinforcing the bottom chord. There is still a major debate on whether or not
to repair it from the major problems that occured during the earthquake. The bridge is a major tourist attraction of Alaska.
