MIRC is a very good IRC client that allows you to connect to a world of chat rooms on the Internet. However, in order to do this, you need to know how to connect to a server. This is how you do that:

1. Load up MIRC
2. Click on the File menu, and then the Setup menu.
3. Under the IRC Servers tab, select the server that you wish to connect to.
4. Now click Connect
5. It will attempt to connect to the server you selected. Sometimes network situations prevent you from connecting to some servers. So, if you can't connect to one server, try another.

Note: Make sure that you are connected to the Internet prior to loading up MIRC, or this may not work.
