Head Injuries

line

This discussion of head injuries is limited to minor disabilities occurring in recreational sports: nose bleeds and black eyes. Injuries causing unconsciousness, joint dislocations, or fracture should always be examined by a physician. Serious head injuries are rare in noncontact casual sports. However, we have all experienced a nose bleed or black eye from such activities. It's easy to get hit in the eye with a tennis ball, hit yourself in the head with your own racquet in racquetball, or crash into an opponent in a friendly game of hockey.
