When you play most video games, you will probably be treated to an explosive sound track. But how do they get these full length songs into the games. Enter MIDI, (or Multi Instrumental Digital Interface) using this system, it is easy to take songs onto the computer.. MIDI files require that the computer at the recieving end have the instruments files they require. So if your computer is MIDI equipped, it contains an entire orchestra of instruments already programed in. So all a MIDI file contains is instruction for what instrument your computer should play. This is a very efficient system. It is the equivalent of sending sheet music in a text file rather then sending the entire .wav file.
