What is a Singularity?

Once a star has used up all of its nuclear fuel, it continues to collapse to form a "singularity" of infinite density. The singularity would be an end of time, at least for the star and anything on it. Anything or anyone who falls into a black hole will come to an end of time and will be crushed to infinite density.
