About Links

Below are what we think to be the best additional resources for the HTML language on the Internet. They include references, tutorials, and resources. Please take a look through them in order to find out more information. If you have a good HTML resource please submit it to our Link Exchange. Press the Back button on your browser to return to the previous page.

The World Wide Web Consortium

This is the organization that defines what HTML is. It approves and develops tags into different versions of HTML. This is a good site to visit if you need more information about the HTML language. You will also find news related to the world wide web.

Writing HTML

Writing HTML is a very complete and concise HTML tutorial. It is a project of the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction written by Alan Levine, an instructional technologist at the Maricopa Community Colleges. The tutorial provides an excellent resource. We recommend looking here if you can't find a certain topic in our own tutorial.

A Beginner's Guide to HTML

This is another very nice tutorial. Although the entire tutorial consists of one long page, this site is worth looking at. Keep in mind that it is only an introduction and does not pretend to offer instructions on every aspect of HTML.

The Bare Bones Guide to HTML

This page is one giant list of tags. Unlike our Quick Tag reference, this page just lists the tags in categories. Minimal or no descriptions are offered. This page is good for people who know how to use tags and want to experiment with new ones that they've never heard of.

A Beginner's Guide to URLs

A nice, but small resource outlining various types of URL pointers that can be used. These types include files, HTML pages, and gophers. If you are having trouble linking to your favorite web sites, read this resource from bottom to top.

Carlos' Forms Tutorial

This is a great forms tutorial created by Carlos A. Pero. It is fun, concise and simple. It starts off with a great example of an online form for the user to fill out. Take a look at this tutorial even if you already know about the inner workings of HTML forms.

Composing Good HTML

This page is a good HTML resource despite its length. It covers many aspects of HTML and includes many example images. This document attempts to address stylistic points of HTML composition, both at the document and the web level.

Directory of Hypertext Resources

Tons of HTML related links. Topics include HTML guides and documentation, HTML authoring tools, editors, and HTML editor software packages. This page has an amazing amount of resources included in its list.
